Central Station Monitoring
Sydney Metro is Australia’s biggest public transport project and Central Station is Australia’s busiest railway station. The station will serve as an interchange between the metro, the city train services and country terminals. Laing O’Rourke is tasked with delivering the new Sydney Metro platform under Central Station as well as the landmark Central Walk – a new underground pedestrian concourse to help customers get around Sydney’s busiest railway station.

Hoppers Crossing Removal, VIC
Western Program Alliance (WPA) was contracted to construct an overpass to remove the level crossing at Old Geelong Road, Hoppers Crossing. The design requested settlement monitoring of the Southern abutment using magnetic extensometers. The specific requirement was to monitor the settlement of new fill above a soil beam that had been run over uncontrolled fill.

Through the redevelopment of East Perth and the riverside, the area will transform over the next decade into a mix of residential, commercial and public domains which capitalise on the unique setting to become a cosmopolitan waterfront community and tourist destination. Gerringong Upgrade, New South Wales
The New South Wales government has enlisted Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) to upgrade the Princess Highway between Mount Pleasant and Toolijooa Road. RMS has contracted Fulton Hogan to design and construct the Gerringong upgrade which is underway and is expected to be completed in the first half of 2015, weather permitting. This upgrade will provide 7.5 kilometres of upgraded highway and include two new interchanges with access to Gerringong and Gerroa.
