Diamer Bhsha Dam, Pakistan

To monitor slope stability due to the height of the project, Geomotion Pakistan proposed an inclinometer system with EC casing and were tasked with monitoring the inclination at all depths. With one hole around 290 metres deep, the system was possibly the deepest inclinometer installation anywhere in the world, monitoring successfully and retrieving data.

Klong Tha Dan Dam, Thailand

The 93 metre high and 2,720 metre long Klong Tha Dan Dam, deigned for irrigation on the Nakon Nayok River, is the largest Roller-Compacted Concrete dam in the world by volume of concrete used, at 5 million cubic metres. The US$143 million scheme was completed in 2004.

Marina Barrage, Singapore

The Marina Barrage is a tidal and flood control barrier that has been constructed across the mouth of the Marina channel at a cost of $226 million. Opened in November 2008, it has turned the waters of the Marina basin into an inland reservoir, Marina Bay now has a stabilised water level with no tidal fluctuations.

Son La Dam, Vietnam

The $3.5 billion Son La project is under construction approximately 360km north west of Hanoi. It is a 138m high structure with RCC volume of approximately 3.1M m3, with a peripheral spillway with a capacity of 35,000m3/s. Located on the right bank, the spillway has eight gates in addition to 16 low level gates to control water levels during the flood season.

Bunji Hydro-Power Dam, Pakistan

The Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) launched a 25 year comprehensive integrated program “Water Resources and Hydro Power Development – Vision 2025 program” in 2001. This program aims at the development of water storage projects as well as harnessing the Hydro-Power potential in the Country. The US$2.1 billion Bunji Hydro Power Project is included in this program.
